Gettin back to reality

Well, this first week back to school has been okay. It's hump day, but it seems like it's been dragging by. I'm not sure why, but I feel like this has been the hardest bounceback from a break in my college career so far. Probably because I have so many responsibilities, so I rack my brain trying to think of everything and then I just overwhelm myself. It's going to be a good semester though! Things are off to a good start. There's a couple of classes that are probably going to kick my butt, but I'm just going to push through it as best I can!

Long time, no blog!

Well, it's been a while since I've blogged over here! Last semester was a super busy one for me. Between taking on leadership rolls within Ball State TCOM and all my classes, blogging, unfortunately, got pushed to the back burner. But not anymore! I'm here to stay and I will be blogging regularly. Everyone be sure and check out my new blog called "The Film Jockey" where I review all kinds of movies throughout the week and update on movie news. "Toolbox Central" will remain my forum for random rants! Hopefully I'll be back within the next couple of days for something a little more interesting to talk about!

Losin' it!!!

Well, I definitely need to get to bloggin' way more often! As of right now, I am in Maryland staying with my sister and her husband and son. This is doubling as a summer vacation...and boot camp! I have been struggling with some major weight issues, mostly because I'm lazy, and my sister is helping me out! I have been here 4 days and I can already tell a difference in my energy levels! It's a really great time for me because my sister has been really good about being healthy and working out regularly, whereas I, have not. So, this is a major lifestyle change for me, and it's going great so far! I have eaten more vegetables in the past 4 days than I have in my entire life! We are working out about once or twice a day as well. This is going to be really great for me and I can't wait to reach my goal and become a new person!

One nation...UNDER GOD!

It's been a while since I last blogged, but I'm returning on a more specific note this time. It involves an article I found on Yahoo.com as I was checking my e-mail just about 5 minutes ago. Apparently there was some atheist group in North Carolina that decided it would be a good idea to make a giant billboard saying "One nation...Indivisible." What's wrong with this, you might ask? The line "Under God" is missing. The point of the article, however, comes in because some unknown vandals spray painted the missing words onto the billboard! This made me very happy to see that some people in this nation still believe that God should be a part of our lives. Of course there are legal actions being taken because of the vandalism and the "defacing" of public property. Whatever. I'm extremely offended by the sign in the first place, so how about some legal action against the inconsiderate atheists who apparently NEED to get their atheism publicized. There's no doubt that they were intentionally trying to piss off the Christian community more than they were actually trying to get their own name out. Which is totally O.K.! I remember when the Chronicles of Narnia movie came out back in 2005, and it was within the first week of its' theatrical release that I saw a news segment saying "Is the Chronicles of Narnia TOO religious?" How about being too ATHEIST??? I get physically disgusted when I think about how twisted this whole issue of "Church and State" has become. It's like people have completely forgotten what our nation was built on. There are many better ways for an atheist group to make their existence known. This is not only extremely uncalled for, but it's also just another chance for everyone who DOESN'T believe in God to try and piss off the population that does believe. It's a sad, sad fact that people can't just live their lives, but they really feel the need to offend someone. Well, I'd say they got what was coming to them.

Updated life

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE SPLICE TOMORROW! I have a sweet new job. I make fat cash errday. hahaha. I haven't posted anything new for a while...I've been kinda lazy haha! But I'm havin a blast this summer so far! I can't remember if I've mentioned this already but I'm doing a summer movie project with Ball State for the TCOM department. We have already done three days of shooting and its been awesome! Im a camera man and I really like it so far. But tomorrow we have a night shoot so we don't even start til 9pm...which means I'm sleeping IN TOMORROW! haha. I have a bunch of videos that I've worked on this past year and I really need to get them uploaded! I need make a resume reel too...hmmm I should get on that hahaha. Can't wait for SportsLink in the Fall and to be CardinalVision General Manager!! I'm really pumped to be stepping up and taking on a really important position for the TCOM department. I'm honored that I can be trusted with something like that and I can't wait for it to kick into gear!! That's all for now haha..

Finals week...you suck

Well...I don't know why I'm complaining. I only have ONE final this semester. And I just took it. It was in Spanish 201, and I'm pretty sure I got like a C. I actually feel like I got a B- but I always do worse than I think so I don't want to get my hopes up. Anyway, today I had my final at 7:30 this morning, I have a 5 page paper to turn in at 10, I have to pick up a Creative Writing project from my prof so I know what I got, and then I have a "final" in my TCOM class. Actually we're just watching our projects that we've been working on the past couple weeks. It's not really a final. But anyway, I have a quiz to do online by Friday too. But that'll be easy. I'm just glad Spanish is over! Even though I have another semester of it to take. TCOM requires 4 semesters of a foreign language, and next semester is my last! I can't wait to be done! I kind of enjoy Spanish, but the teacher teaches all in Spanish, so it's hard to really comprehend sometimes. Plus there's so many different verb forms and conjugations I can't keep them straight. That's the most confusing part. But just one semester left!!! I can't wait to sleep in all day everyday this next week. Summer classes start the 17th of May, so I get some time off! I am so tired all the time because I had an 8am and a 9am every other day this semester. I am not a morning person at all. If I could just sleep in at least once over the week that'd be awesome. But next semester will rock cuz I'm not taking any classes before 11am! Yep, can't wait. Well, this has gone on long enough....hasta luego!

BORED!@#$%^&*()

Hahaha...I'm watching To Catch A Predator. This show is awesome. I love seeing these filthy dirtbags get caught. And then they try to deny anything. Even though the evidence is all right there. Speaking of Predator...the new Predator movie is coming out soon!!!!! I can't wait. It's directed by Robert Rodriguez. I really like his movies because he does a lot of sci-fi and creative stuff. Anyway, the movie is called "Predators." Notice the "S" on the end. They're taking the same road that the Alien franchise took. Instead of "Alien 2" they slap an "S" on there and make it plural. I think it's pretty cool though. But it took a couple movies for the Predator franchise to catch on to that tactic. There was the first one with the "Govern-ator!" haha. Then the second one...simply called "Predator 2" lol...with Danny Glover. And then there was the epic failure known as "Alien Vs. Predator" which spawned a sequel "AVP: Requiem." Yeah, not really sure where the whole idea of requiem fits into that category...but not including the AVP movies, "Predators" will officially make the Predators franchise a trilogy. I love trilogies. I just think they're a good way to build a story and conclude it all together within three movies. Usually sequels are worse than the originals but there've been a few good ones. Shrek 2 was awesome! Scream 2...awesome! But anyway...I just really can't wait for Predator-S. haha...
